Q. Can I hire crates or buy packaging online?
A. Yes you can rent crates online from www.rentacrate.co.uk, and you can buy packaging from www.teacratepackaging.co.uk
Q. Can I buy crates?
A. Yes, crates may be purchased outright from PHS Teacrate. Please call us on 0800 980 7000 to discuss your requirement.
Q. How many crates do I need?
A. For office moves a general rule of thumb is to take the amount of people moving and multiply by 6. So if 5 people are moving, 30 crates should do the job.
For house moves we offer complete home moving packs containing the optimal amount of packaging materials for a move of a 1, 2, 3, or 4 bed roomed property. See our online packaging store, teacratepackaging.co.uk for details
Q. Should I rent or buy crates?
A. This is entirely up to you. If you need them for a one off event the only viable option would be to rent. However if you are looking to have the crates in use for an extended period, it may be beneficial to enquire about what crates we have for sale. Also, if you would like to use the crates on your clients premises or for open storage, then we can supply new crates, which would look good on display.
Q. Do you sell used crates?
A. Yes, we do sell used crates. These are in a variety of colours and also condition (although they do WORK!!). You can buy used crates from our dedicated website removalcrates.co.uk or by contacting our sales team on 0800 980 7000.
Q. Is there a minimum quantity of crates you supply?
A. No, you can have as few or as many as you want. All orders will be subject to a delivery charge. If you require custom branding on crates, or crates of a particular colour then a minimum order quantity will apply.
Q. Do you provide crates direct to home movers?
A. Yes, via our online crate rental company rentacrate.co.uk. You can hire crates and handling equipment from Rentacrate, all with next day delivery.
Q. Do crates come in different sizes?
A. Yes, there is a wide variety of crate types and styles, with different options to suit. Download our PDF brochure here for further information on our range.
Q. Are the crates stackable?
A. Yes, they may be nested inside each other when empty. Lidded crates may be stacked on top of each other when full. Some of our unlidded crates such as the FC4 (Standard food crate) and the A3 (All rounder crate), have bale arms either side which can be engaged so as to allow crates to be placed and stored on top without damaging the contents.
Q. What are the crates made of?
A. They are made from a tough polypropylene, which is 100% recyclable.
Q. Can you choose the colour of the crates?
A. Yes, we have a team on hand to help you with a bespoke requirement. Should you find you have a particular need that isn't covered by our standard range, we can work with you to design and produce your own bespoke products. This includes a choice of colour. (Minimum quantities apply).
Q. Can you brand the crates?
Yes, crates can be branded with your company name or logo. Minimum quantities apply.
Q. Can the crates be sealed for security?
A. Yes, our lidded crates can be sealed with our security seals, and can be stacked and moved using our skates and handling equipment. Accessories are also available to label your crates, and protect the contents. If you have goods that need extra protection in transit, our consumable packaging range includes packing paper, quilted covers and bubble wrap all available on next day delivery.
Q. How much do crates cost?
A. This depends if you buy or rent crates and the type and quantity ordered. PHS Teacrate supply crates across the UK at competitive rates. Call us on 0800 980 7000 for a quote.
Q. What options do you offer on delivery?
A. We have many special delivery options (some of them you wont find anywhere else!)
· Next day delivery as standard (UK mainland only)
· Same day/Emergency delivery available (added premium involved)
· Timed Delivery (e.g. if you need the crates on weds at 9am) again added premium involved.
· Customer collection from one of our 8 strategically located depots
· We also have different sized delivery vans so if you are located down a narrow lane, we can get the crates to your door
. We can call you 1 hour before delivery
Q. How much notice do you need to deliver crates to me?
A. Next day delivery is standard on orders placed before 5pm.
Q. Do you deliver on weekends?
A. No, Monday – Friday from 8.30 to 5.30pm, although special weekend delivery can be arranged subject to a charge.
Q. How can I check on my crate order?
A. The quickest and easiest way for a crate rental customer to monitor / track an order is through ‘Cratelink’, Teacrate's unique online crate tracking system.
Q. How would I pay?
A. Once you have an account, you will be invoiced and this normally has a 30 day credit. We accept most of the major credit/debit cards. You will be billed from day of delivery on a weekly basis and once the crates have been returned, you will receive a final invoice.
However, at any time, you can call our credit control department on 0800 980 7000 and they can provide you with an up-to-date account statement which can be emailed or faxed to you immediately.
Q. Can I change my order after I submit it?
Yes, call our free-phone customer service help line on 0800 980 7000 as soon as possible. Alternatively changes can be administered through ‘Cratelink’ - Teacrate's market-leading online crate management system, which is available 24 hours a day to all Teacrate customers. With this service you can place an order, track an order, amend an order, check an order - all with a few clicks of a mouse!.
Q. What if I need to cancel my order?
A. You can cancel your order via Cratelink or call 0800 980 7000 as soon as possible.
Q. How environmentally sustainable are your products and services?
A. All our crates are made from 100% recyclable plastic and manufactured locally in the UK.
Where possible our packaging products are made from recyclable material or the raw material is obtained from a sustainable source. We work constantly to extend our range of recyclable packaging materials.

Q. Does Teacrate offer any other products or services?
A. As well as our comprehensive range of crates, handling equipment and accessories, Teacrate also supplies a full range of packaging materials for domestic moves. We also provide an in-house crate wash service to the food and manufacturing industries - both to our own crate hire customers and to third parties with their own crate assets.
