Congratulations to Pat Southerington of W. Southerington & Sons Ltd. on winning £250 of packaging materials in our recent competition!
We launched the competition to celebrate our new website, which you're looking at now. Everyone was encouraged to take part by answering a simple question, and Pat's name was the one drawn out of the hat, from all the right answers. Pat said "I'm over the moon, Teacrate's really brightened my day".

Take a look at our CMOTY page via the link at the top of this site. It's our page dedicated to the Commercial Mover of the Year award that we're once again sponsoring. Information will be posted there on a regular basis to keep everyone up to date with what's going on. There have been some changes in the competition format since last year, to make the competition as inclusive as possible. Also, the prizes for the Overall Winner and Category Winners have been altered slightly, so that they have a choice from Crate Rental, Packaging, Marketing or a donation to a charity of their choice. All prizes are provided by PHS Teacrate, along with support in the form of PR and advertising in the relevant journals and websites.
Entry forms will be sent out to Commercial Moving Group (CMG) members in early December, but you can contact us if you need any more information.

We're excited to announce improvements to our Cratelink system!
Cratelink users can now get real-time tracking on their collections and deliveries. Our drivers send a text message when they've collected or delivered crates, and this info is sent directly to Cratelink. So, you can now keep even more up to date with your orders. We're really proud of our unique Cratelink system, which works really well with the GPS tracking on our vehicles that we introduced earlier this year.

Although the market for house sales has pretty much collapsed, the good news is that the rental market is booming, as first time buyers simply can't buy and renting is seen as less risky in the current climate. Renters are more likely to move more often than homeowners too, which provides opportunities for removal companies. There's also the opportunity in the commercial moves market, where the market is buoyant as companies are downsizing to help prepare for a recession, or to ride out the slump in the economy.
We at Teacrate, like the rest of the industry, are looking to other industries to boost sales. For example, we are now able to offer plastic crates at a cheaper rate than cardboard for the food industry, offering long term savings. Since returning from Thailand I've had my Christmas hat on! Not literally, but PHS did launch its Christmas Tree range for 2008 last week. As I'm now the MD for our landscaping division, PHS Greenleaf, I've been learning about the trees and accessories that we supply, and exactly how much work goes into installing displays across the UK in December, and removing them all in the New Year.
I also had a go at decorating the trees by hand but soon realised that I haven't got the right touch! So I'm leaving the decorating to our elves in our Christmas factory. Have a look at our website for more info.
Don't worry - I haven't neglected my Teacrate duties! In fact, I'm currently working on a new campaign, promoting our plastic crates as an alternative to cardboard for frozen food. Well, here we go with my first blog entry! It's a bit scary all this "thoughts and feelings" stuff but with everything that's happening at Teacrate and in the removals and logistics industries, I think it's important to keep the lines of communication well and truly open! I've just come back to the UK from a fantastic two week holiday in Thailand, and am busy getting back into the swing of things here at work. First thing to do was to launch the new website - and here it is! What do you think? Let us know via our Contact Us page.
